When is Post-prom 2015?
The 2015 Post-prom will be held Saturday, April 25th at the WHS Gym. The doors will open at Midnight and our event will be over at 5:00 am. All students must be
in attendance by 1:00 am! If they aren't, we notify the parents or guardians.
How do I know my child is at Post-prom?
We call every parent or guardian for each student and guest who is attending prior to that evening. We try to reach you at the number you provide, but if we cannot we will leave a message. If you do not hear from us, your student is not registered. If they are not there by 1:00 am we will call you! You are always welcome to call the high school and ask us!
How can I help Post-prom?
You can help us be attending our meetings, making a donation, purchasing a prize or chaperoning our event!
My son/daughter doesn't want me to attend Post-prom, can I still help?
This is a common statement we hear each year. You will rarely see your child, so please don't let this stop you! There is so much going on and the students are
so busy, they won't even know you are here! We also need as much help as possible to chaperone!
Can my son/daughter leave early?
Yes, they can. However we will contact you first to let you know they are on their way home. They will not be allowed back in and if they win a prize, they need to
be here until the end to receive it.
I am very busy and don't have time to help but would like to make a donation.
All of our parents who work year after year are very busy but feel that keeping our children safe on prom night is worth the time and effort! However, if you don't have time to help and would like to make a donation, you can send it to WHS Post-prom, 505 East Bulldog Blvd., Waterloo, IL 62298
Who can attend Post-prom?
All WHS Juniors, Seniors and their guests. You do not need to attend prom to come to post-prom. If you are a guest, you must be under the age of 21.
What is the cost of Post-prom and what does it include?
Post-prom admission is $10.00 per person and this includes all food, refreshments, games, prizes, door prizes and each person who attends post-prom will receive a
t-shirt. We do not give t-shirts to students who do not attend. If you registered and must cancel prior to the event, we will return your money. Our reason for this policy on the t-shirts is that the following week, we allow the students out of class on "T-shirt Day" and give them a treat if they attended. They wear their t-shirt that day and it is their pass out of class and a statement that they made a safe choice.
Does Post-prom make a difference?
Yes it does! Over the past 19 years that we have been holding our Post-prom, we have kept our students safe and our community safe on prom night. This is with
the cooperation of the Waterloo Police Department, the parents, civic groups, businesses and the staff and administration of Waterloo High School. Prom night is notoriously a night of unsafe behaviors and sometimes consequences are life changing. We want to make certain that our students are safely with us and having a great time making memories with their friends.
Is there anything else we can do to insure that WHS Post-prom is successful?
Yes! Please encourage your son or daughter to attend and make this safe choice. If they ask to have their own party at home, offer to provide breakfast following Post-prom. Our parents put so much work and effort into this event and need your support in encouraging attendance!
